No! This is not a story about Rihanna.
A few years ago when I was living in Cape Town one of the most common complaints I use to hear was about the wind, the infamous Cape Town wind, capable of the most atrocious disasters, like messing with one’s hair or spoiling that sunset selfie by the beach but in my eyes, that wind, an important element in shaping the beautiful Cape Town’s landscape, was something special, something deeply connected with the city’s character and capable of turning the ordinary into something extraordinary.
Well, in Singapore, where I’ve spent the last two years of my life and even though the amount of complaints are far less (there aren’t as many Capetonians here after all), you can still hear people nagging about something that is intrinsic to the place – the rain.
This is a short photo story about a rainy day in Singapore and how, at least for me, these natural elements can sometimes transform the routine and the ordinary in something unique. This is also how I shot for two straight hours with my beloved x100f in one hand and an umbrella in the other one.
